Carroll‘s 學校學習模式  In 1963, John Carroll proposed a model to account for school learning—學校的學習是時間的作用( school learning is a function of time)  School Learning = f (time spent/time needed). 學習者在學習上所具備的性向影響學習成效 (slow learner vs. quick learner)   性向(potential ability, capacity for anything潛能)—性向高學習快(學習較複雜) ， 性向低學習慢 (學習較簡單) 。依卡羅的觀點， 性向是學習速率的指標(learning rate) 而非學習成就 (learning level)的指標 。 雖然每個人性向不同， 但是只要給於個人適合需要的時間，每個人應達到相同的成就。
