(V) Helen Keller comes to most people's minds every
time they talk about a person who can't see or hear. Helen
lost her sight and hearing when she was two. Because she
could not hear, she couldn't learn to speak well. She was
seldom understood when she spoke.
Luckily, Helen Keller's teacher, Annie Sullivan,
not only helped her to feel things but also taught her to
talk, read, write and sing. After years of studying with Ms.
Sullivan, Helen Keller went to the Perkins School. There,
she learned several foreign languages. In 1990, she went to
college and graduated with good grades four years later.
Helen Keller became a great teacher like Ms.
Sullivan. She was the first blind and deaf person that
successfully worked as an educator. Her story really
influences us a lot.
