All pipe connections to tanks are to be fitted before testing. If engine bed plates are bolted directly on the inner bottom plating, the testing of the double bottom tank is to be carried out with the engine installed. All tanks as well as holds arranged to carry liquid cargo or ballast water are, unless otherwise agreed, to be tested with a water head equal to the maximum pressure to which the compartment may be exposed.
