Extreme heat events are becoming more common all over the world. But besides the effects like sweaty clothes and increased thirst, extreme heat can have several   41.   effects.
Because of some conditions   42.   by extreme heat, there’s a risk that airplanes won’t be able to take off properly. You might think it’s because the engines get too hot, but it actually has to do with how air acts when it is hot. The hotter the air is, the less dense it becomes. Because airplane wings can’t operate in air that is below a certain density, when extreme heat lowers the air’s density too much, flying becomes dangerous.
While extreme heat may keep the sky clear of planes, it will also   43.   the oceans cloudier. That’s because in certain parts of the world, extreme heat caused more rain to fall. This creates larger, faster-moving rivers, which carry more dirt with them into the oceans. As the oceans get darker, it gets   44.   for animals that use their sight for hunting to find enough food to survive.
