Social enterprises can take one of several forms: community organizations, cooperative ventures, NPO spinoffprojects, stand-alone ventures, or traditional companies restructured to advance social causes. While companiesemploy corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives as a passive form of self-regulation to address theirenvironmental and social impacts, social enterprises actively endeavor to solve social problems.
