14.The Taiwan Excellence awards, launched in 1992, are overseen by the Taiwan External
Trade Development Council. When the 2010 Taiwan Excellence Gold Awards were
announced earlier, the eight winners cut a remarkably wide swath, ranging from a robot and
a router-representing the country’s traditional skill in technology and electronics-to an ecosmart
car and a miniature yellow submarine. _______________ On the other hand, all the
Taiwan Excellence Gold Award winners had one thing in common: “innovalue,” a
combination of innovation and added value that has long been the signature of the country’s
leading products.
