Luria’s neuroscientific approach – the three principal functional units

Luria posited that human mental processes represented complex functional systems that involved groups of brain areas working in concert, each making a unique contribution to the organization of a functional system.

Unit 1  for regulating tone or waking,(unit的張力調節和喚醒)

維持和調節皮質張力(cortical tone)的結構位於皮質下和腦幹中，並且與皮層具有雙重關係。具體而言，上行網狀系統激活皮層並調節活動狀態，而下行網狀系統使下層結構隸屬於皮質的控制。

Unit2 for obtaining, processing and storing information(unit的獲取、維持和儲存訊息)

Unit3  for programming, regulation and verifying mental activity.(unit的規劃、管理和核實心智活動)
