上一題
Dads now can have the proper excuse when they make a spectacle of themselves on the dance floor. A study was conducted by Dr. Peter Lovatt, a British psychologist and dancer, to compare the dance style and confidence of nearly 14,000 people. The study found that the way people dance changes as a function of their age and gender. While the dancing confidence of men goes up steadily through the late teens and 20s before leveling off in the early 30s, their confidence levels suddenly shoot up once they are over 60. On top of that, middle-aged men typically have larger, less coordinated movements than their younger counterparts. As a result, their awkward moves keep young women at bay. Dr. Lovatt further conducted a follow-up study to explore why some people are confident on the dance floor, while others refuse to even wiggle their hips. In a nutshell, he summarized the suggestions of his study as follows: “Dancing is a natural expression of who you are. Don’t try to copy the movements of others. Just relax, move freely and, most of all, have fun.”
