學名Doxepin
藥理作用
本品為參環類抗憂鬱劑，適用於減輕精神或神經精神障礙所引起的憂鬱和焦慮不安。幾天之內就產生抗焦慮的效用，但抗憂鬱的反應則需數週。在治療初期，最顯著的是鎮靜作用。酒精會促進效力。口服的濃縮品可用水，果汁和牛奶，在投與前先加以稀釋。本品亦可阻斷H₁和 H₂接受體，具強力抗組織胺的作用。
適應症
焦慮狀態、憂鬱症。
副作用
其他較少見之副作用為口唇乾燥、口渴、頭痛、眩暈、情緒變化、味覺改變等。

The mechanism of action of Doxepin hydrochloride is not definitely known. It is not a central nervous system stimulant nor a monoamine oxidase inhibitor. The current hypothesis is that the clinical effects are due, at least in part, to influences on the adrenergic activity at the synapses ((so that deactivation of norepinephrine by reuptake into the nerve terminals is prevented.))
