After more than 450 years of trade and cultural relations with China, Japan has produced a unique heritage of its own, the Kingdom of Ryukyu琉球.

Shurijo Castle was the center of the kingdom＇s politics, economy, and culture. 

The “administrative管理的；行政 sphere＂was centered on the forecour（大型建築物的）前院.

It was composed of由…組成 several buildings—Seiden, Nanden/Bandokoro complex, Hokuden, and others.

Political and ceremonial儀式, 典禮 activities involving the King himself also took place here.

Many religious sites地點 around the administrative sphere,  foremost最重要 among them the largest Kyo-no-uchi, made up the “sacerdotal僧侶的,祭司 sphere.＂ 

On the sacred（尤指因與神有關而）神聖 sites, priestess（基督教以外的）女神職人員 prayed for the prosperity成功；（尤指經濟上的）繁榮 of the royal family, safe sea voyages, and good harvests. 

Here lived the King and his family along with their many female attendants服務員；侍者.

Men were strictly嚴格 forbidden禁止 to enter this area.

The Ouchibara was a private space where women rule控制, 統治.
