Semi-fixed expression

【定義】Semi-fixed expressions are phrases or idioms that retain the same basic word order throughout. But some semi-fixed expressions can change some of their parts.

【例】take [sth.] into account, hold [sb.] responsible, [make] the right decision, [have] a good time

(1) Sub-sets of these are phrasal verb :

【例】take up, get away with, look up, bring about

(2) idioms can be semi-fixed :
