Malala first came to public attention through her diary, 26 recorded her desire to remain in education and for girls to have the chance to be educated. In October 2012, Malala was 27 in the head by a Taliban gunman, which raised her international fame. She was named as one of TIME’s most influential people in 2013, and her autobiography I Am Malala was 28 in the same year.
