The government says the island's economy flashed a "red" light in April for the fourth
consecutive month, an indication that the economy remains "overheated."
It is the first time the economic climate has maintained a red light for four months in a
row.
Meanwhile, the consumer confidence index dropped for the first time in eight months in
May to 76 points, down 2.68 points from April.
According to market watchers, the decline reflects recent plunges in the stock market as
well as uncertainty about whether the next six months will be a good time to invest in
stocks.
