The rotating motion of impeller feeds the mechanical energy into the fluid so that the flow rate with certain pressure heads are produced. Nevertheless, for each type of rotating machinery, the rotating component should be aligned with the axis of rotation longitudinal to the ship. This measure could avoid the high bearing loads that could occur during ship rolling if the machinery is mounted transversely.
