Takeaway delivery apps have made ordering food quick and convenient, offering a choice of 100 cuisines from 60,000 restaurants. --[1]-- However, the convenience of takeaway food has led to many people relying on fast food for their daily meals, often consuming deep-crust pizzas, spicy curries, and boxes of noodles. This trend has been particularly prevalent among young adults, with one in six 16 to 20-year-olds consuming fast food at least twice a day. --[2]-- Additionally, busy office workers and urban dwellers with hectic lifestyles often resort to pre-made meals or have them delivered to their doorstep due to lack of time or cooking skills. --[3]--

While takeaway food delivery offers convenience, it can come at a cost both to our finances and health. --[4]-- Reducing salt, sugar, and fat and opting for healthier options, such as grilled chicken or salads, can help. Questions 161~163 refer to the following article.

Conflict is an inevitable aspect of relationships, which can even be regarded as a healthy part of the interaction. One cannot anticipate individuals to agree on every issue all the time, which makes conflict an intrinsic aspect of relationships. It is crucial to learn how to manage conflicts in a healthy way, as failing to do so may cause harm to the relationship. Conversely, if handled positively, conflict can provide an opportunity for growth, which may strengthen personal and professional relationships.

The root cause of conflict can stem from differences, both major and minor, that occur when individuals disagree over values, concepts, or desires. Sometimes, these differences appear insignificant, but when a conflict triggers intense emotions, it suggests that a profound personal need lies at the core of the issue. This requirement may involve the need for safety and security, respect and appreciation, or a deeper connection and intimacy. If you do not comprehend your own emotional needs, it may become challenging to communicate effectively with others, leading to unresolved conflicts.

In the workplace, conflicts and disputes are often caused by differing needs among coworkers. Recognizing and understanding these conflicting needs among colleagues can lead to creative problem-solving, team-building, and improved relationships. Once a workplace conflict is resolved, mutual trust will thrive, which can enhance productivity at work.

Resolving workplace conflicts requires four essential skills. Firstly, one must manage stress while remaining focused and calm. This allows individuals to accurately read and interpret verbal and nonverbal communication. Secondly, controlling emotions and behavior is vital as it enables communication of personal needs without threatening or scaring others. Thirdly, it is imperative to pay attention to what others are communicating and be aware of their feelings. Finally, one must be respectful of differences and avoid disrespectful words or actions. When people feel respected, they will be more open to communication.

By practicing the four above-mentioned skills, individuals can manage conflicts and resolve differences in ways that build trust and confidence, leading to improved personal and workplace relationships. These practical skills can enhance work performance and productivity.

【題組】 161. According to the article, what is the role of conflict in relationships?

A Review about the Training Course “Consumer Behavior”
by Gina

I recently attended a training program on modern consumer behavior, and I have to say that it was incredibly informative and eye-opening. As someone who is relatively new to customer support, I found the course to be a valuable introduction to the factors that influence customer behavior and decision-making.

One of the things that I found particularly interesting was learning about the consumer decision-making process. Before the training, I didn't realize just how many steps are involved in making a purchasing decision. Now, I have a better understanding of how we as customer support staff can influence each stage of the process, from problem recognition to post-purchase evaluation.

I also appreciated learning about perception and attitudes, as this is an area where I think we can really make a difference in how customers perceive our brand. By understanding how customers interpret our marketing messages and form attitudes towards our products and services, we can tailor our interactions with them to be more effective and engaging.

Overall, I feel much more confident in my ability to provide exceptional customer support after attending this training program. I'm excited to put my new knowledge and skills into practice and see the impact that it has on our customers and our business.
