4. A collar A of mass m may slide freely along a horizontal rod. A bar of mass 3m and length L is connected to A by a smooth joint so that it is contained in a vertical plane, as shown in Figure 4. The system is released from rest in the position where the bar makes a 450 angle with the vertical. Determine the speed of collar A when the bar becomes vertical. (20%)

Hint: It can be assumed that the speed of the collar is v, the angular velocity of the rod is ω, and the acceleration of gravity is g.

5. A sliding puck hits another puck of the same mass, as shown in Figure 5. Friction may be neglected. What is the coeffcient of restitution if both pucks move at the same speed after impact? (20%)
