In fact, companies have to face problems with organizing and managing all of the data needed for e-commerce sites. The second misunderstanding about doing business on-line is    23    it is cheap. To go on-line effectively, however, companies have to spend millions of dollars. A survey of 100 businesses with commerce sites    24    that most companies spent about US$750,000 just for e-commerce technology.    25    , people suppose that all companies want to sell their products on-line. It is true that some companies consider e-commerce useful,    26    they still keep their shops open to serve customers who prefer to be able to feel the actual items before buying. The answers to these three misunderstandings help explain why not all companies are doing business on-line today.

Instant noodles are a quick, simple food that saves people much time on cooking. But how did they come to be? Although instant noodles were invented in Japan, the inventor, Momofuku Ando, was from Taiwan. He came up with the idea of frying the noodles just a bit. He first boiled, flavored, and dried the noodles before deep frying them in oil at high heat. This flashfrying removes the water inside the noodles quickly and creates many tiny holes. The holes allow the noodles to absorb water easily when they are cooked later. Another advantage of flash frying is that the dry noodles can be stored for up to a year without going bad.
The first instant noodles made by Ando’s company entered the market in 1958. At the time,chicken-flavored instant noodles were even more expensive than fresh noodles. In 1971, Nissin began selling noodles served in a single cup, a packing which was convenient for an instant feed. All the customer had to do was add hot water. Then, when dried vegetables were also put into the cup, instant noodles became a complete meal.
Today about 96 billion servings of instant noodles are consumed around the world each year. One major reason why instant noodles become a popular dish is that they are quite cheap. A single pack can be bought for as little as NT$8.

The Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), according to scientists, may be caused by a new coronavirus ( 新冠狀病毒 ) which originally came from animals. As populations grow, humans develop animal farming and disturb wildlife. They may then pick up viruses from wild animals, which sometimes has serious consequences.
In the last fifty years, a number of diseases have spread to humans from animals like bats, birds, and pigs. In the 1970s, the Ebola virus jumped from bats in Africa and has so far killed tens of thousands of people. In 2003, the virus which caused the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) was also likely to come from bats. It showed similarities with the new coronavirus. Since 1997, the spread of human infections with the bird flu virus has also been reported in various countries.
For a long time, animals have played an important role in human life. However, health officials warn that animals can sometimes appear healthy even when they are sick. Viruses move from animals to humans in several ways. One is through direct contact, such as being bitten or scratched by an infected animal. Another way is indirect contact when people touch objects with viruses left by infected animals. A third way is from insect bites. Mosquitoes, for example, can spread diseases when they bite people after feeding on infected animals. Experts suggest that people protect themselves by building good hygiene habits. They should avoid being bitten, handle food safely, and always wash their hands after being around animals. Staying healthy is very important as the new coronavirus would not be the last virus to jump from animals to humans.
