Tonic-Clonic seizure (grand mal seizure)

• Tonic phase: loses consciousness, eyes roll upward or deviate to one side, jaw clenches shut, respiratory muscles spasm (cyanosis), contraction of muscles – arms flexed; legs, head, neck extended, increased salivation and loss of swallowing reflex • Clonic phase: violent jerking顫動 of face and limbs, tongue biting, incontinence of urine and feces

• Postictal phase: muscle relaxation, drowsy and sleep afterwards
