1. Paunovic et al. (2002) reported an explicit memory bias for trauma-related words in PTSD, although it should be noted that the encoding task in this study was the emotional Stroop. As such, there are concerns that the adequate and equal encoding of all stimulus materials cannot be ensured (Coles and Heimberg 2002). The earlier findings have been more mixed. For example, Vrana et al. (1995) found enhanced memory for emotional words (but not trauma-related words) on a free recall test. 
2. In terms of implicit memory, McNally and Amir (1996) reported no implicit memory for trauma words in people diagnosed with PTSD but Amir et al. (1996) found implicit memory for trauma-related sentences. It is possible that by presenting sentences, as opposed to individual words, a clearer context was provided and this better captured the effect.
3. Overgeneral memory is evident in PTSD/ASD, eating disorders, unipolar and bipolar depression, and psychosis (although note the one negative finding by Kaney et al. 1999 for unipolar depression).
