Part B: 依據下列文章回答問題,選出一個正確的答案
Passage C
There are many types of trees, and they are similar in some ways. All trees have roots, trunks, and
branches. They also have leaves or needles. Some trees look like a sphere on a stick; some, a cone.
The trunk of a tree gets bigger as it grows. As you can see, branches grow from the trunk, and leaves
grow from branches. Trees get food from the leaves. The leaves of trees are not all the same. The leaves
of many trees fall in the autumn and then new ones grow in the spring. Needles are green all the time.
After needles fall down, some new ones grow. As for the roots, they hold the tree in the ground. Water
from the soil goes into the roots for the trees to grow.
Some animals make their home in the trunk of a tree. For example, birds build their home on the
branches of a tree. For people, trees keep us cool. It is cooler to sit in the shade of a tree than anywhere.
Trees are also at our disposal in many ways. We burn wood in our fireplaces to keep warm. It is also
used to make stationery. We build wood cabins. To conclude, trees really serve us well.
