IAMSAR 全名是 International Aeronautical and Maritime Search and Rescue Manual（國際航空和海上搜救手冊），由國際海事組織（IMO）和國際民航組織（ICAO）共同出版。它總共分為三卷（Volumes），每一卷的分工非常明確，是特考很常考的細節：
第一卷（Volume I）Organization and Management（組織與管理）： 供國家級的搜救政策制定、全球搜救體系規劃人員參考。
第二卷（Volume II）Mission Co-ordination（任務協調）： 供搜救協調中心（RCC）的搜救協調官（SMC）規劃搜救任務使用。
