「Reverse culture shock」中文意思是「逆向文化衝擊」或者「重返本文化休克」。當一個人在異國不同文化環境裡生活了一段時間，經歷了文化休克，適應了異國文化後，當其回到祖國後，出現對自己本國文化有不適應的症狀，這就是「Reverse Culture Shock"。
