S＋Vt＋that＋S＋(should) ＋VR 表未來「該……」

子句中 should 通常省略，只用原形動詞。

單字解析 insist 

1. 當（堅持某人該做某事）時：

則 that 子句的動詞，必須用「should  +  原形動詞」。

在美語常常把 should 省略掉。

例如： I insisted that you should be on time.

         =I insisted that you be on time.

2. 當（堅持某一個事實or經驗）時：

則that 子句的動詞，為一般形式。

也就是「動詞是隨時態而變化，並沒有用（原形動詞)」。

例如： I insist that he is innocent.
