IM pins用於肱骨、股骨、脛骨、尺骨、掌骨和蹠骨的骨幹骨折。
IM pins禁用於橈骨，因為釘的插入點通常會干擾到腕骨。
IM pins are used for diaphyseal fractures of the humerus, femur, tibia, ulna, and metacarpal and metatarsal bones. 
IM pins are contraindicated for the radius because the insertion point of the pin generally interferes with the carpus.
