1. The cargo manifest is the first main document to be produced by the agent for all shipments being loaded aboard the vessel. In container shipping, it details all the containers loaded on board the vessel and the contents of each container. There are several copies of the cargo manifest kept by the following parties: the shipping line, the shipping line agents at loading port and destination port, export customs, and import customs.
