1. The length of time that containers remain on terminal, the dwell time,
directly affects throughout capacity for a given size of container yard,
because of the longer the dwell time the lower the capacity. To obtain a
reduction in the average dwell time, it will be necessary to understand more
precisely the factors and constraints affecting the lapsed time between the
container being discharged and being collected from the terminal. Also, it
is necessary to improve the operation system of the reception and the
loading of the containers on board.
