The decision of some big-name companies of smartphones, such as Nokia and
Apple, to adopt instant communication and cloud computing technologies in their
products is likely a result of the popularity the two features have elicited among laptop
users worldwide. But their efforts may turn out futile due to the vulnerabilities of related
applications to cyber attacks and the user-unfriendliness of the phones’ interfaces in
