對感染腎病型 Gray IBV 株的雞隻餵食高鈣飼料常導致尿路結石或腎臟病變，

Chickens fed increased levels of dietary calcium followed by infection with the nephropathogenic Gray IBV strain frequently developed urolithiasis and kidney lesions. 

不過追溯了下發現這是1989年的 paper，節錄該篇的摘要及討論：

The layer ration increased Ca excretion and induced anmetabolic alkalosis, thus decreasing urine [H+] and causing urolith formation. 

蛋雞料 (layer ration) 提高了鈣排除並引發了代謝性鹼中毒，故尿液氫離子濃度降低並導致結石形成

Necrotic debris may accumulatenand obstruct urine flow; the debris may thennserve as focal points for Ca-urate precipitationnand eventual urolith formation. 

壞死碎片可能會在尿路中累積而阻礙尿液流動，並為尿酸鈣提供沉澱處，最終形成結石。
