(二) Shark finning is a cruel process that must be stopped, not only for the cruelty
that is placed upon the animals but for the survival of shark species. DNA
tests conducted on shark fins being sold have revealed that some of the
commonly traded fins come from threatened and highly endangered
species. Shark populations are declining because of overfishing, prompting
many countries to implement bans to protect them.
