Environmental justice appears when people start to persuit human rights and build infrastructure. No matter rich or poor, living in affluent or developing countries, all people possess the equal right to get resources necessary for survival and prosperity. Environmental justice includes principles that people as well as their communities have the rights to protect their environment, health, jobs, education, transportation, and so on. Since 1994, environmental justice has made strides in raising awareness, changing the public's attitude and prompting people to take actions. However, does this movement succeed? When seeing some people still struggling for survival besides garbage dumps, water plants, chemical plants and refineries, we cannot help but questioning ourselves the effectiveness of the environmental justice movement as it appears to bring a mixed outcome.
