Philippine nationals could become eligible for visa-free entry for stays in Taiwan of up to 14 days by next month or November, Ministry of Foreign Affairs revealed yesterday. The government has decided to implement the visa-free program on a trial basis to promote people-to-people, tourist and commercial exchanges between Taiwan and the Philippines. The government encourages Manila to follow the principle of reciprocity and grant Taiwanese nationals visa-free privileges as soon as possible.

外交部昨日透露，菲律賓國民可能有資格在下個月或十一月前在台灣停留長達14天的免簽證入境。政府決定試行免簽證計劃，以促進台灣與菲律賓之間的人與人，遊客和商業交流。政府鼓勵馬尼拉遵循對等原則，並儘快給予台灣國民免簽證特權。
