but not among the twins  without schizophrenia (van Erp, Saleh, Huttunen, et al., 2004).

A meta-analysis of MRI studies  conducted with people during their first episode of

schizophrenia concluded that the volume of  the hippocampus was significantly reduced

compared to people without schizophrenia (Steen, Mull, et al., 2006).
