Indirect: internal inguinal ring. Lateral to infection epigastric artery. Right>left. Mostly congenital.
Direct: medial to inferior epigastric vessels within hesselbach’s triangle. Due to weakness in the floor of the inguinal canal.
Femoral below inguinal ligament. Medial to femoral vein. More common in women.(20x) 40% presen as incarceration or strangulation.
