1. ISPS  One of the objectives of ISPS is to establish an international framework involving co-operation between Contracting Governments agencies, local administrations and the shipping and port industries to detect security threats and take preventive measures against security incidents affecting ships or port facilities used in international trade.

2. STCW amendments 2010 This part of the STCW Code contains mandatory provisions to which specific reference is made in the annex to the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers, 1978, as amended, hereinafter referred to as STCW Convention. These provisions give in detail the minimum standards required to be maintained by Parties in order to give full and complete effort to the Convention.

3. Shipboard emergency plan(SEP) Casualty Report to Governments and Owners or Operators, The master is obliged under the terms of International Convention for prevention of pollution from ships (MARPO 73/78) to make a report to the nearest coastal state when an incident involved; a discharge above the permitted level or probable discharge of oil or of noxious liquid substances for whatever reason including those for purpose of securing the safety of the ship or saving life at sea.
